    Each of our Aqua Blue Oceane Sand and Gelatin Biodegradable Cremation Urns is handpainted by skilled artisians and crafted using sustainable materials to create an environmentally friendly urn. When placed in water, the Passages Sand & Gelatin Urn is designed and engineered to float briefly before sinking. The time each urn takes to sink will vary depending on the weight of the cremated remains and local water conditions. Once placed in water the urn will break down within three days. When buried the urn will biodegrade in three months.

  • Dimensions: 9.06" H x 7.09" L x 6.69" W
  • Capacity: 200 cubic inches
  • Designed to hold the ashes of a loved one with a weight of 200 lbs or less before cremation.
  • This urn comes in multiple sizes - designed to hold the ashes of a loved one weighing up to 200 pounds before cremation.
  • Included with each urn is a biodegradable bag into which the cremated remains must be placed.

    • Product Features

  • To open the urn, carefully lift the lid and remove it.
  • Alternately, To seal this urn slightly wet the inside of the lid. Replace and allow to dry.
  • Do NOT use sharp objects or finger nails to grip the lid as this will scratch the finish on the urn.
  • Each urn is shipped in a box with custom protective packaging that provides your family with a discreet and convinient method of transportation.
  • The box (and urn) will pass through airport security screenings and can fit in the overhead compartment of most commercial airliners.

    What size urn do I need?

    One pound of body weight will yield just less than 1 cubic inch of ash. Assume for shopping purposes that: 1 pound body weight = 1 cubic inch ash.

    Cremation urn item descriptions list the size of the urn in Cubic Inches. If you know the weight of the deceased - then you know the size of the urn you need. Approx Weight = Approx Size.

    Easy example: A cremated 100 pound person will yield almost 100 cubic inches of ashes. So, if 1 pound = 1 cubic inch then this person would need an urn that is approximately 90-100 cubic inches or larger.
