Our Ocean Sunset Eco Friendly Scattering Tube is specifically designed to simplify the scattering process. This is an attractive and dignified approach to the scattering of cremation ashes. The 'Mini' or 'Token' size options are a convenient method for family or friends to participate in scattering ceremonies (even in multiple locations). Available in 4 sizes.

The tube features a removable lid and a perforated “push in” tab that opens easily prior to scattering. There are no metal or plastic components and can be recycled or composted after use. Suitable for carry-on airline transportation.

Important Notes & Information

Scattering ashes at sea. The federal Clean Water Act requires that cremated remains be scattered at least three nautical miles from land. If the scattering urn or container will not easily decompose, you must dispose of it separately. The EPA does not permit scattering at beaches or in wading pools by the sea. You must notify the EPA within 30 days of scattering ashes at sea.

The Clean Water Act also governs scattering in inland waters such as rivers, lakes and ponds. For inland water burial, you may be legally required to obtain a permit from the state agency that manages the waterway.

I purchased this in the smaller size to take some of my friend's ashes to Ireland with me. I picked the Patriot one due to the fact he was an Army Veteran. I am pleased with the size of the container and the sturdiness of it. I won't go to Ireland for another couple of weeks but am sure I won't have any problems with this product.

I recently had a client that requested this tube for an ocean scattering. The tube was a nice surprise. The artwork was just amazing and it was thicker than I expected. I'm looking forward to using these again after my normal stock runs low.
ProsGreat artwork and detail, very durable.
ConsPrice was a little high for me as I use many tubes monthly, but, for a family looking for just one, I see no issue.

I was very happy with this product. I ordered this to spread my brother's ashes at sea. It's pretty and plenty big enough to hold the ashes of a 200 pound person. It worked perfectly. Everyone on-board took a turn pouring some ashes into the sea and sending him off with their own personal thoughts and prayers.
If your family is not into having a fancy urn, but more into focusing on honoring your loved one's wishes to be released in the place of their choice, I think this product is a great idea. Also, the price on this site can not be beat.

Nice Scattering Urn, But Too Expensive

This will work nicely when we go to scatter my husband's ashes. It is very pretty. I just think the amount that you ask for these urns is outrageous, but there wasn't much choice. Just like everything else, people who are grieving get taken advantage of.
Merchant Response:Thank you for your feedback. We do not make these products or set the prices. The manufacturers set the pricing and a funeral home would charge 2X what we do. Yes, I agree they are not inexpensive items, and I wish we were charged less too, but we can either sell them for the price we do, or not sell them at all...and then you are forced to pay 2X at a funeral home. They are a very functional item and very well received.
ProsNice idea and will be good to have to scatter ashes. Pretty on the outside too.
ConsWay too expensive for cardboard.

I felt this was a quality item. The cardboard was thick and sturdy. I felt confident traveling with it on an airplane (in my carry on luggage).
Merchant Response:We agree. The vendors have us...and our hands are tied with the price if we are to offer them. There is a knock off that is less money...but the quality is lacking so we stick with this more expensive one. It's a functional item that needs to work...so we stick with the quality one.
ProsThe directions were clear on how to fill and seal the urn. You will need some glue.
ConsThis item is overpriced when compared to a cardboard item of similar size, such as a gift container for a wine bottle. But it seems like everything is overpriced when it comes to anything related to the death process.
