    Black Granite Pet Cremation Urn with Engraved Photo is an American made cultured granite cremation urn crafted in the heart of New England using state of the art composite technology and century old molding techniques. Upload or email us a photo and it will be digitized then laser engraved on the urn with incredible detail. Cultured granite urns are luxurious in appearance yet very durable. High strength and more resistant to denting and chipping than natural granite urns. Cultured granite is a precise blend of natural granite limestone and polyester resins.

If you want us to use only part of a photo please indicate that in the comments section during checkout (on the Shipping page). Photographs submitted for engraving are touched up, cropped and put through a diffusion dithering process which makes them "engraving-ready”. During the process the photo is turned into thousands of tiny dots. We show this process in a gallery image above. Depending on the quality of the photo submitted, lighting, resolution, contrast, etc, the final product will vary. Our talented graphics designer and engraver work hand in hand to achieve the best photo engraving possible.

    What size urn do I need?

    One pound of body weight will yield just less than 1 cubic inch of ash. Assume for shopping purposes that: 1 pound body weight = 1 cubic inch ash.

    Cremation urn item descriptions list the size of the urn in Cubic Inches. If you know the weight of the deceased - then you know the size of the urn you need. Approx Weight = Approx Size.

    Easy example: A cremated 100 pound person will yield almost 100 cubic inches of ashes. So, if 1 pound = 1 cubic inch then this person would need an urn that is approximately 90-100 cubic inches or larger.
